LottoSouth Basketball Dynasty!

I'm not gonna lie - this is a hard one for me to write. Not only did the 80's Celtics and Lakers, I mean Kevin and Paul pass me in total regular season basketball wins during this fantasy campaign, but now Kevin has taken over most championships in one sport as well (he now has 6 in basketball to my 5 in football).  I don't think we have talked enough about what Kevin has done in fantasy basketball the past few years: - He has 6 titles in the past 9 seasons - 4 titles in the past 5 seasons - He is still the only owner to go back to back in ANY of our Triple Crown sports and now has done it twice in basketball (2017-18 and now 2020-21). He is the Celtics. He is the Lakers. He is the Bulls. We are watching a fantasy dynasty build before our eyes. Has to be mentioned that EZ had his best fantasy season ever at 12-1, just got hit hard by injuries at the end. Paul nabbed in a fantasy title in hockey but lost this championship in basketball. The Covid gods give and they take away...

Dirty South Wins First Hockey Title

Congrats to Paulie on winning his first hockey title in his first ever season of playing fantasy hockey! I give him a ton of credit - he got way into the sport, was tracking every day, was sending long voice message recaps of his team's performance every day and it totally paid off. He put in the time and effort of a champion and he proved victorious. Paul prevented Jordan from a 3 peat in the Hand Sanitizer league and won the first hockey title as a part of our Triple Crown fantasy leagues. I can't stand giving Covid an ounce of recognition in this space but as future generations look back at this season, it has to be noted that Jordan's team was hilariously decimated by Covid postponements during the championship week. I know Paul would have loved to play Jordan at his best but we've been saying all along that the season that was played during these unprecedented times IS the season that was played. No excuses, no asterisks.  Of further note - Paul has now made FIVE S...

Welcome to SCL Season 10

Now that the winter meetings have concluded, the 2021 season of the SCL has officially begun. This will be the TENTH season of this league and it's good to have everyone back once again. Paul is our defending champion... Mike Trout is on a new team... we have a new league logo... and we should , maybe could have another full season of baseball (Lord willing!). New rules for 2021: - Change ESPN rosters from 28 to 27 and track all prospects on the keeper tab of the spreadsheet. Prospect players have to be drafted to qualify. If someone picks up someone else's prospect player during the season, the penalty is that they have to drop the player and just lose that pickup for the week. This will start immediately, with our draft this year - You can draft and acquire as many prospects as you want during the season, but can only keep 2 at the keeper deadline. - Starting in 2022, we will keep Top Tier Keepers in Rounds 3 and 4 as opposed to the current set up of keeping in Rounds 1 and ...

Chilangos Win First Epic Title!

Congrats to Isai on winning his first ever Epic X fantasy football championship! We will get to his recap in a minute but first some league business: - Updated Draft Order: 1. Chris 2. Jonathan 3. Tyler 4. Josh/Phil 5. Kevin 6. Frankie 7/8 - Will be officially determined tonight between Ian and Chad 9. Paul 10. Isai Our draft board on the spreadsheet is all but updated (pending Ian and Chad's result) with all of the offseason trades already added in. Once you look at the board, feels like Frankie, Kevin and Paul have a nice head start with Keepers and/or draft picks! - The season is now over and we enter our annual "dark zone" on transactions. Obviously I can't stop any deals from being made in back alleys but nothing can be announced until kickoff of the first NFL playoff game. Once deals have been announced, please add them to the "Offseason Trades" column on the "Trades" tab of our spreadsheet. - Also on the spreadsheet, please go to the "R...

Season 1 of the Hand Sanitizer Fantasy Hockey League

Even though there has been 3 seasons of the Hand Sanitizer fantasy hockey league so far, 2021 will be it's first as an official Triple Crown League. Hall of Fame WILL count towards winning percentage, division champions and league champions. Incredibly, out of all of our fantasy leagues, this is the first that will consist of 12 teams (three divisions of four teams each). Very impressed with the interest and turnout for a startup hockey league. Here are some league details going into the season: SCORING SETUP H2H Most Categories See league page for details Goals are tiebreaker ROSTERS 22 players 17 starters 5 bench PLAYOFFS 6 Teams 1st and 2nd seed get a bye 3 plays 6 4 plays 5 #1 seed gets to pick who they play 1,2,3 are division winner DRAFT PICK PLAYOFFS 6 Teams 6th and 7th seeds get a bye 3 plays 6 4 plays 5 #6 gets to pick who they play in the 2nd round TRADE DEADLINE March 19, 2021 ROSTER MOVEMENT Daily - Lock at individual game times 4 pickups per week Waiver Order - move to...

Epic X Week 12 Power Rankings

By Kevin Turley Note: These rankings are being released late this week because A: there is a game being played right now. On a Wednesday afternoon. Crazy. B: On Sunday I got sick and tested positive for COVID. It’s been like the flu for me. Life and work have been a lot to navigate - but I am feeling better today. If you need me, I’m quarantined until Dec. 9. You know where I am.   #1 Paul (Last week #1) Paul only scored the 4th highest amount of team points this week. This is the scoring week that his fellow playoff contenders want to see. Good. But not great. Paul is going to have to land on on a lineup. Does Montgomery sit? Is Thomas a must start without a passing QB at the helm in New Orleans?? Make no mistake. Wilson didn’t have to do much versus the Eagles. Rest up buddy. Phipps is going to need you. Too much talent, had an off week and still won, this team is still the best in the league.  #2 Chad (Last week #4) You can’t score 200 points and not move up. 200 point...

Epic X Week 10 Power Rankings

By Kevin Turley 1. Ian (Last week #1) Chooooo chooooo! All aboard. This train keeps on rolling. The highest scoring team in the league this week. Other teams have gone "all in" to win in years past, but this may be the best we have seen in recent years. Ian was at a crossroads. Throwing caution to the wind he was one of the first teams to "buy" to try and make a run. And boy is he running. The questionable starting of Tua over Ben didn't even matter (-21 points). The McCaffery injury didn't matter (will he get healthy in time for the Epic X playoffs?). Ekeler is still on IR and no Chargers running back has grabbed that role. He will be a beast when he returns. Julio Jones and Jamison Crowder were on bye weeks. It didn't matter. Even with the lucky Valdes-Scantling pickup (30 points), take that away, he still wins this week. Ian is deep and talented. This is the clear cut #1 team in the league this year and it's going to be hard to knock him down from...

Rebound League Activated for Season 9

Can't believe it, but we are entering Season NINE of Rebound League fantasy basketball.  NEW THIS SEASON: - We welcome back Chad, Chris, and Ian, which gets us back to 10 owners.  - We welcome Jonathan to his first ever season of fantasy basketball as he will be teaming up with Ian. - Going back to 10 owners forces some changes to our lineup: We will now have 13 player rosters (15 last year), still with 4 IR spots. - Starting lineup will now consist of 2 PG, 2 SG, 2 SF, 2 PF, 4 C (and 1 bench spot). - With dropping down in roster size, we now have a 38 game max each week instead of 40. - 13 week season (you play your division twice and the other division once) will happen from December 22nd through March 28th - 2 weeks each for Semifinals (3/29 - 4/11) and Finals (4/12 - 4/25) - Trade Deadline is March 12th - New Divisions this year as drafted by last year's top record holders, Kevin and Phi: Jackie Moon Division Kevin Frankie Chad Isai Chris Jimmy Chitwood Division Phil Ian E...

Epic X Week 9 League Rankings

Kevin Turley's Week 9 League Rankings Paul (8-1). The whispers were loud this morning, more than what a team usually hears after a victory in the Epic X. Is Paul still the top team? His team only scored 98 points, 3rd lowest in the league this week. The Gaskin and Kittle injuries still loom large, add Ridley and Montgomery to that list, and the people are asking, can Paul stay healthy and keep up with the elite of the Epic X?? “Fuck that statement, I AM ELITE!” - you can hear Owner Phipps from the back of the room. 3 people clap in support. Facts are facts though. Chubb is back! Michael Thomas will be on a full pitch count. Paul is only 1 point behind from being the highest scoring team in the league..which means this team stays on top. Sike! You can’t score 98 points and stay on top. Will this team make any power moves before the trade deadline??! Rumor has it that this team will stay as is and this is the team that will make the run for a championship. No one wants to face Phipps...
