Epic X Week 9 League Rankings

Kevin Turley's Week 9 League Rankings

Paul (8-1). The whispers were loud this morning, more than what a team usually hears after a victory in the Epic X. Is Paul still the top team? His team only scored 98 points, 3rd lowest in the league this week. The Gaskin and Kittle injuries still loom large, add Ridley and Montgomery to that list, and the people are asking, can Paul stay healthy and keep up with the elite of the Epic X?? “Fuck that statement, I AM ELITE!” - you can hear Owner Phipps from the back of the room. 3 people clap in support. Facts are facts though. Chubb is back! Michael Thomas will be on a full pitch count. Paul is only 1 point behind from being the highest scoring team in the league..which means this team stays on top. Sike! You can’t score 98 points and stay on top. Will this team make any power moves before the trade deadline??! Rumor has it that this team will stay as is and this is the team that will make the run for a championship. No one wants to face Phipps. As talented of a squad that’s out there and this team has been consistent all year. If they get completely healthy, watch out!

This week: #2

Ian (5-4). Speaking of highest scoring team in the league, you are looking at the new #1! This team is on fire. This week dropping a 174 score with a zero in his lineup. His opponent, Tyler, was so dismayed that he started questioning his own sexuality. Dalvin Cook is looking like an MVP candidate. McCaffery didn’t look rusty at all. Ekler is still on IR. Add in the receiving core of Thielen, Julio, and Chalk. This team is scary good. What happens though if Big Ben falters? Cook and Julio have been dogged as injury prone over the last two years. Can this team stay healthy?? Ian made trades and sacrificed future for now. Why not?!! That “now” is looking pretty sweet as he is now the favorite to bring home the title.

This Week: #1

Isai (8-1). He won. He’s 8-1. That is an impressive record in any fantasy sports season. 6th in total points scored in the league. Only 113 points scored this week. Both of those are middle of the pack stats.   Yikes??? Not so fast. Currently the highest projected team in the league for this upcoming week, Isai has too many known names on the team not to be good. Don’t sleep on this squad. Can’t move them up, but can’t move them down. Easily the 3rd best team in our league right now.
Last Week: #3
This week: #3

Chad (5-4). 4 losses in a row. This train is moving but in the wrong direction. What do they do? Henry and Kamara are still solid, but are they good enough to carry their whole team?!!! This is the team right now that is pulling over with Tommy Boy to get directions..but do they need a new map??! What will Owner Chad do? Hunker down and make a run? Hedge his bets and make a trade to gain some assets for next year while still competing for this year? Only 4 teams make the playoffs. This is the team that is on the outside looking in.
Last Week: #4
This Week: #5

Tyler (5-4). Tyler is a man, and he knows it. He may have lost this week but he scored 128, which would have beat 5 other teams in the league. 4th in points scored for the season. This is the team that bumped Chad and takes over as the favorite to secure the last playoff spot. How certain are we of this?? Not certain. Teams #4 and #5 may have to both join AA (save us a seat Melvin Gordon!) this week as they aren’t winning these positions, but no one else at the moment has done anything to knock them out...Tyler is breathing near the top..but barely.
Last Week: #5
This Week: #4

Josh (4-5). Don’t look over your shoulder boys! HUGE win over Chad this week. Climbing in both wins and points scored has this team licking its chops for a spot in the playoffs!! If tweedle dee and tweedle dumb above keep dropping games, this is the team with the roster to pounce on that last playoff spot!! Robinson and McLaurin looking like one of the best deadline deals after one week. DJ needs to come back. Watson needs to continue to perform at a high level. This team has playmakers. Can Josh Mahler rise from the ashes? This is going to be fun to watch down the stretch.
Last Week: #6
This Week: #6

Chris (2-7). 1093. That is the number to look at. With only two wins on the season you may overlook this squad. Sitting at 5th in overall points scored, this could be the NFC EAST representation in the Epic X playoffs. He has some ground to make up, but with a few high scoring weeks combined with other teams lower scoring weeks, miracles could happen! Don’t count this team out yet!
Last Week: #8
This Week: #7

Kevin (3-6). Mahomes can score. But can anyone else? The lotto ticket players didn’t even pay out at $2. Good news is that Miles Sanders is back this week! Bad news, Mahomes is on bye this week. This team needs Lady Luck to come through and avoid a two game losing streak, and one step closer to the IMO.
Last Week: #7
This Week: #8

Frankie (3-6). 59 total team points. Ouch! Boyd, Burrow, Kupp were on bye weeks. Everyone else underperformed. Frankie has talent, will it be enough to carry him out of the IMO Bowl??! Good news for him: a matchup vs the LottoSouth WildCats this week.
Last Week: #9
This Week: #9

Jonathan (2-7). Can we scream this louder: TRADE DEADLINE IS TOMORROW JONATHAN. A very nice almost win this week. Jonathan has some players but he is the favorite to land a spot in the coveted IMO Bowl. What will Jonathan do tonight Pinky? The same thing he does every night, NOTHING.

Epic X Week 10 Power Rankings

By Kevin Turley 1. Ian (Last week #1) Chooooo chooooo! All aboard. This train keeps on rolling. The highest scoring team in the league this week. Other teams have gone "all in" to win in years past, but this may be the best we have seen in recent years. Ian was at a crossroads. Throwing caution to the wind he was one of the first teams to "buy" to try and make a run. And boy is he running. The questionable starting of Tua over Ben didn't even matter (-21 points). The McCaffery injury didn't matter (will he get healthy in time for the Epic X playoffs?). Ekeler is still on IR and no Chargers running back has grabbed that role. He will be a beast when he returns. Julio Jones and Jamison Crowder were on bye weeks. It didn't matter. Even with the lucky Valdes-Scantling pickup (30 points), take that away, he still wins this week. Ian is deep and talented. This is the clear cut #1 team in the league this year and it's going to be hard to knock him down from...

Epic X Week 12 Power Rankings

By Kevin Turley Note: These rankings are being released late this week because A: there is a game being played right now. On a Wednesday afternoon. Crazy. B: On Sunday I got sick and tested positive for COVID. It’s been like the flu for me. Life and work have been a lot to navigate - but I am feeling better today. If you need me, I’m quarantined until Dec. 9. You know where I am.   #1 Paul (Last week #1) Paul only scored the 4th highest amount of team points this week. This is the scoring week that his fellow playoff contenders want to see. Good. But not great. Paul is going to have to land on on a lineup. Does Montgomery sit? Is Thomas a must start without a passing QB at the helm in New Orleans?? Make no mistake. Wilson didn’t have to do much versus the Eagles. Rest up buddy. Phipps is going to need you. Too much talent, had an off week and still won, this team is still the best in the league.  #2 Chad (Last week #4) You can’t score 200 points and not move up. 200 point...

Welcome to Triple Crown Fantasy Sports

A bunch of us have been playing fantasy sports together for damn near the past decade. I sent out a survey back in the fall just to make sure everyone is still having fun - seems like we are. I'm ready to take it all to the next level. Paul has always referred to the leagues that I started - Rebound League for basketball, the Epic X for football, and the Senior Circuit League (SCL) for baseball - as the "Josh Leagues." I get it, but it's time for something more official. Welcome to Triple Crown Fantasy Sports. Moving forward, this site will be the place where I post weekly league recaps, news, updates, and maybe even start writing more. Here's the other thing we are launching today: The Triple Crown Fantasy Sports Hall of Fame. I've been looking for more/better ways to incentivize everyone who plays in any of our leagues. Hell, I've been looking for new ways to incentivize myself. Essentially there are 4 stats we're looking at to gain H...
