Chilangos Win First Epic Title!

Congrats to Isai on winning his first ever Epic X fantasy football championship! We will get to his recap in a minute but first some league business:

- Updated Draft Order:
1. Chris
2. Jonathan
3. Tyler
4. Josh/Phil
5. Kevin
6. Frankie
7/8 - Will be officially determined tonight between Ian and Chad
9. Paul
10. Isai

Our draft board on the spreadsheet is all but updated (pending Ian and Chad's result) with all of the offseason trades already added in. Once you look at the board, feels like Frankie, Kevin and Paul have a nice head start with Keepers and/or draft picks!

- The season is now over and we enter our annual "dark zone" on transactions. Obviously I can't stop any deals from being made in back alleys but nothing can be announced until kickoff of the first NFL playoff game. Once deals have been announced, please add them to the "Offseason Trades" column on the "Trades" tab of our spreadsheet.

- Also on the spreadsheet, please go to the "Rosters" tab and add any players to your own individual column that you want to keep controlling for keeper/trade purposes. I've added the obvious ones (including QBs that apply to the new QB Keeper Rule), but please add any others as all of our rosters on the ESPN site will empty once the league reactivates.

- I've also included our "Players Acquired with Picks" (PAPs) on the Rosters tab so please review those (and the PAP rules below the player list) before making any offseason deals. The PAPs are definitely going to add some new wrinkles to offseason movement.

- I will announce our Pro Bowl starters on Thursday. The Tommy Boy Division is looking to extend its 3 year winning streak to yet another season.

- Put it on your calendars: we are currently aiming for Saturday morning, July 10 for our 2021 draft. Paul has invited everyone to his beach house in Destin, FL but feel free to draft online if you can't make it.

Thanks for another great season, boys! Next year we kick off season number FIFTEEN of The Epic X.

ON TO RECAP OF SAI'S SEASON...

First, congrats again to Paul and EZ on a great season. 12-1 and GM of the Year (3rd straight for Paulie!) is super impressive. It's all going to come together for the Devil Dogs one of these seasons.

I was looking at it last night and was just really impressed with the totality and wholeness of Sai's season as a fantasy football GM.

Here are some quick highlights:

- Traded for Hopkins in the offseason as a Keeper. DHop had a great first season in Arizona and was worth that Keeper price.

- Also kept Tyreek Hill. Have you seen his season totals? Sai gave him a MVP vote and was definitely deserving with only two games under double digits.

- Then Sai got super drunk on the golf course and drafted in a tequila haze. There were some valleys (I thought he had passed out on his computer during the Kerryon, Mack, Michel run in the middle) but there were some peaks as well - Keenan Allen was great value in the 6th and Antonio Gibson in the 12th was massive.

- In his drunken stupor, he was somehow aware of enough to make a critical trade with Chris: He traded Taylor and JuJu for Swift and Conner. Conner has been banged up as of late but had a pretty solid season overall and definitely helped provide a good base floor week to week.

- Swift proved huge later in the season as he was able to flip him for Waller and DJ Moore (who came up huge in the title game)

- Sai also did a couple of pick swap moves: Traded his 2nd for Mixon, who I don't think ever played a single down for Sai (but I liked his "all in" attitude) and more importantly, a 5/7 swap for Lamar when he had been limping along with Cam at QB.

- Picked up Dobbins off the waivers and that was that.

- Good keeper moves in the offseason, good value and sleeper steal in the draft, good player for player trades, a couple key pick swaps, and some good waiver wire pickups.

It really was a complete GM experience that got Sai to this championship win.

Congrats to you, sir!

I'm ordering the new name plate for the trophy today and we will have the ceremony soon.

Epic X Week 10 Power Rankings

By Kevin Turley 1. Ian (Last week #1) Chooooo chooooo! All aboard. This train keeps on rolling. The highest scoring team in the league this week. Other teams have gone "all in" to win in years past, but this may be the best we have seen in recent years. Ian was at a crossroads. Throwing caution to the wind he was one of the first teams to "buy" to try and make a run. And boy is he running. The questionable starting of Tua over Ben didn't even matter (-21 points). The McCaffery injury didn't matter (will he get healthy in time for the Epic X playoffs?). Ekeler is still on IR and no Chargers running back has grabbed that role. He will be a beast when he returns. Julio Jones and Jamison Crowder were on bye weeks. It didn't matter. Even with the lucky Valdes-Scantling pickup (30 points), take that away, he still wins this week. Ian is deep and talented. This is the clear cut #1 team in the league this year and it's going to be hard to knock him down from...

Epic X Week 12 Power Rankings

By Kevin Turley Note: These rankings are being released late this week because A: there is a game being played right now. On a Wednesday afternoon. Crazy. B: On Sunday I got sick and tested positive for COVID. It’s been like the flu for me. Life and work have been a lot to navigate - but I am feeling better today. If you need me, I’m quarantined until Dec. 9. You know where I am.   #1 Paul (Last week #1) Paul only scored the 4th highest amount of team points this week. This is the scoring week that his fellow playoff contenders want to see. Good. But not great. Paul is going to have to land on on a lineup. Does Montgomery sit? Is Thomas a must start without a passing QB at the helm in New Orleans?? Make no mistake. Wilson didn’t have to do much versus the Eagles. Rest up buddy. Phipps is going to need you. Too much talent, had an off week and still won, this team is still the best in the league.  #2 Chad (Last week #4) You can’t score 200 points and not move up. 200 point...

Welcome to Triple Crown Fantasy Sports

A bunch of us have been playing fantasy sports together for damn near the past decade. I sent out a survey back in the fall just to make sure everyone is still having fun - seems like we are. I'm ready to take it all to the next level. Paul has always referred to the leagues that I started - Rebound League for basketball, the Epic X for football, and the Senior Circuit League (SCL) for baseball - as the "Josh Leagues." I get it, but it's time for something more official. Welcome to Triple Crown Fantasy Sports. Moving forward, this site will be the place where I post weekly league recaps, news, updates, and maybe even start writing more. Here's the other thing we are launching today: The Triple Crown Fantasy Sports Hall of Fame. I've been looking for more/better ways to incentivize everyone who plays in any of our leagues. Hell, I've been looking for new ways to incentivize myself. Essentially there are 4 stats we're looking at to gain H...
